Discover Your Talents

When I was small, I was fortunate to have a family who was extremely interested in the arts. So, it was without a care in the world that I copied my elders, who with smiling faces and nods of support helped me to develop my talents. It never occurred to me that my attempts were in some way inadequate.

At school I learned that there were others more talented than me. My psyche took a dive. No more were there the smiling faces. Instead, stern faces with critical eyes from teachers whom I instinctively did not like, pulled my creations apart. My drawings were too fat, too thin, too high, and too wide. My songs were sung flat, and my athletic movements to ungainly. My ego took a big drop. But, fortunately for me there were my friends who were also incapable of perfect creations. We commiserated together and vowed to be different from the others. We were the untalented lot and proud of it! We thought nothing of making millions of excuses when called upon.

Yet despite my attitude, something in me pushed me to try. Years passed as I struggled with my creativity. But, little by little I discovered that my earlier childhood ideas of inadequacy were a lie. I was as clever as the rest. That is, if I applied myself. Today, I have achieved many things. I am a writer, singer, actress, inventor of healing modalities and much more. I like to think of myself as a living example for others to follow.

One of my most joyful events in my life was learning to use my talents to make our TV Shows Psychic Chit Chat, during which time I, and my husband, have an opportunity to share our knowledge with you. We have a total of 47 shows, dealing with a variety of topics including “Discover your Talents. These shows are now aired regular on Channel 45 every Friday night.

If you think you do not have talent - Stop and think again. Your belief that you can't do something comes from an early simple childhood idea that was either given to you by an elder, peer or yourself. Don't live in the past! Join a group and find out what you can really do now. Take lessons and remember that practice always makes perfect in your eyes. So don’t be self-critical. What other people say doesn't matter either. If you have fun making or doing something then that is all that matters.

If you feel lazy, tired or quite simply think your life is too full with everyday activities, then reschedule your week, and squeeze a hobby in. You will be amazed how much brighter and happier you will feel as you discover and express your talent.
